The Jolly Giant

It's official. I am a giant. But a jolly one.

small

34 weeks and bursting at the seams! There are seams now, they appeared over the past week, thanks for the stretch marks Logan. I told you I was filled to capacity, just how much bigger do you plan on getting in the next 6 weeks?! I am starting to doubt the idea of a "krystal size baby" and now I fear you might be more of a "dominic size baby". 37 weeks we find out just how big you are, I am so curious now!

We have had a busy and fun weekend full of celebrating. Friday night was our baby shower and we were so happy that almost everybody was able to make it. Both our parents, my granny and my sister were there plus lots of friends, including a few that drove down from Phoenix to help us celebrate. We had some yummy mexican food from On the Border, lots of beer and margaritas, and granny made a yummy cake too. We played some crazy games that were pretty funny to watch. We did the "don't say baby" game throughout the night, I lost my pin in about 5 minutes and never got it back haha. Nancy dominated that game and walked away with a prize. We also had everyone cut a piece of string that they thought would be how big my belly is around...wow people think I am huge haha. Laura was close (she also had a belly to go off of ;) but Aaron ended up winning! The funniest one to watch and hardest to participate in was a race with partners, the girls were blindfolded and had to put on a depends diaper on the boys, then switch blindfolds and the boys had to blindly feed the girls a jar of baby food (yuck!), when it was finished the girls handed the boys a bottle of beer to drink out of a baby bottle (much harder then we thought!) and they had to do so without their hands. The fastest team won. Team 1 was Melanie and Megan and Team 2 was Kyle and my mom. These two teams then faced off to see who the winner was, they had to blindfolded and only using one arm each, diaper a baby doll. I was surprised at how fast Melanie and Megan were, they were probably faster then I will be diapering Logan with both eyes open haha. Good Job guys! After that we opened presents and got so many cute things and lots of things we needed, thanks everybody!! While we were opening presents Nicole and Megan were writing down what comments we made about them and then at the end my mom read them aloud and said these were the things we said to each other the night we conceived. That turned out to be way more hilarious then I thought it could be. It was a fun night and we were so glad we could celebrate with all our friends and family! We are so thankful for all of you and can't wait for Logan to meet you!

The next day was Ashley's 21st birthday so we all went out on 4th ave to celebrate. We started off with pizza and beer at magpies then bar hopped our way down 4th. Laura came with too so I decided our goal for the night was to see if we got carded at every bar we went into, considering we are obviously very pregnant looking. First bar we go to I said, do you really need to card me I am obviously not drinking. The bouncer says yes, in fact he just had to kick a drunk pregnant lady out last week then they called the cops on her. Wow. Every bar after that I asked the same thing and they said yes they have to card us, but they don't get many pregnant women coming in haha. I think everyone had a good time, there were lots of shots I have never heard of before being consumed and it was fun to be there and celebrate even if I drank only water. We did a lot of walking and my feet did end up getting a little swollen but they are already back to normal, thanks goodness! But the next day I felt like I almost had a hangover too haha I was exhausted and all I wanted to do was lay around and sleep! Hopefully after Logan is born we can reinact the birthday night so I can participate as well ;)

It has been a fun week with my mom, granny and dad in town and brother for a day too! It's weird to think that the next time they come in a month or so, we will actually have our long awaited baby! Wow, as far away as it seems sometimes, it is coming up fast. And as much as I feel like I am tired of being pregnant, I really can't complain, we have had an easy pregnancy and I still feel really good all things considered. We are very lucky to have had an easy go at this first time around, let's hope all pregnancies we have are this easy! Dominic deserves a thank you for being so supportive and easy going through out all the ups and downs of hormones. If he wasn't so relaxed about it and ready to lift my spirits, some days would have been a lot more difficult! So thanks babe for being patient and not complaining (haha yes I just said that!) and for always making me laugh, Love you!!
