Our appointment yesterday went well, we got to see Logan again on the ultrasound and wow he really is a full grown baby now! No more little nubbins for arms and legs and no more little dots to indicate his manhood (he is still a boy! and much easier to see and believe now!). I would post the pictures but they are so hard to make out, we have one of his face but it just looks creepy because it has black holes for eye sockets, but we could see his little nose and lips. She was measuring his head and said "oh, he has a good size head" which I took as, wow that is one giant noggin, good luck sista. I think my face showed some fear because she then quickly said, oh but it shouldn't be too big, I think you will be ok... Oh I hope you are right! She measured other body parts and the amount of amniotic fluid (which is at a good level still) and then told us the BIG news... looks like he is about 7lbs 1 oz right now...yes right now, with 3 weeks left till his due date. Again, pretty sure my face contorted into something horrific because I was thinking ummmm 3 more weeks...3...still growing...how big...oh the pain. She then said this is only a prediction and he will probably come out around 7-8 lbs. The good news is he is healthy and she said he would be fine if he happened to come early, but she doesn't think he will. I was only 1/2 cm dilated and still high and only 50% thinned out, so he is taking his sweet time preparing for his debut. She also mentioned that she does offer the choice of having an induction at 39 weeks but not before then. Which of course right now sounds tempting but not sure if it is worth it considering all I have heard about inductions means a lot more painful labor. Soooo come a week early and be in pain or stay a week and be uncomfortable, I guess we will see when the time comes. She also noted there was going to be a full moon on Tuesday and the chance of rain which I guess is mother nature's way of saying, go be born children. I told Dominic we will be busy on Tuesday doing all those crazy induction techniques to get the baby out... ok maybe not all of them as most of them sound bona-fide crazy, like drinking castor oil or stimulating nipples every 15 minutes...no thanks. But hey we can do the walking, have sex, eat a ton of fresh pineapple, and rub pressure points on your feet suggestions I mean add a beach and that sounds like a tropical vacation right?!
Our next appointment is Wednesday, not sure much will change between now and then but I will be thinking positive haha. We are packing our hospital bags this weekend so that we are ready whenever baby is. Not sure we have much else to do or get ready other then to wait!
I thought these cartoons pretty much summed up the feelings of the past week!
