Good Morning, that's right morning, even though it is definitely the afternoon. I feel like I have already had two days folded into this one morning. Why you may ask, well apparently I don't enjoy sleeping at night time anymore. At least for the past two days that is. I keep waking up around 2, to slowly make my way to the bathroom of course, and then as I get back into bed at the pace of a snail I realize I am no longer tired. Never mind that it's 2am and that I have only been asleep 4-5 hours (8-9 hours being my usual, yes I realize that is going to change but it doesn't have to until September 9th!) but I can NOT get myself back to sleep. So the story goes like this, well I have finally gotten myself comfortable again after the potty trip so I may as well try to sleep...la la la not tired, maybe I should reposition, 5 minutes later still not tired...I should just lay here and think sleepy thoughts...45 minutes later, ok screw this I am getting up. So after an hour spent trying to sleep in bed I either resort to laying in the recliner and sleeping with my eyes wide open, laying in the recliner accepting defeat and playing on my itouch until I think I am tired again, or laying on the couch and watching tv hoping the paid programming will bore me into dreamland. Of course none of these works until I have heard Dom's alarm go off a few times, seen him leave to work out, watch the sunrise outside the window and realize I have been awake so long I am now hungry. I decide sleep just HAS to come now that I have been awake about 4 hours, so I go back to the bed and of course Maya joins me for snuggle time, I turn on my Futurama cartoons which always help me go to sleep (don't know why, but works everytime! atleast at 9pm or 6am), say good/morning/night/bye to Dominic as he leaves for work and sometime between 6:30-7 I am finally back asleep and I sleep without any "I have to pee" interruptions (which is glorious) until anytime between 9-11. Ah sweet victory...in the sense that I have the required amount of sleep hours I desire, kind of a failure in how I went about getting them! Apparently I am transitioning into the nocturnal world. But I don't want to be there, at least not yet! I am hoping this week is just a few isolated incidents in slumbering, I am crossing my fingers I can sleep my 8 consecutive hours the rest of the week!
So since I am no longer dreaming between the hours of 2am-6am these are some of the websites I enjoy that keep me occupied until my mind turns to mush and I can go back to sleep.
http://www.babycenter.com/all-baby-names-polls
I enjoy the whole babycenter website as I find it very informative, but the best time waster on it is voting on peoples baby name polls. It's amazing the crazy names some people will consider torturing their children with (Pink, Quervo, Spank, Spark, Bolt, Triskal, Tiger, Josarlette) seeing the wacky spellings people come up with to be 'unique' (if we had followed some of these rules for unique spellings Logan would be L'ohgynne) and seeing which names are really popular (Sophia, Ava, Isabella, Lilly, Jackson, Gage, Aiden/Kaden/Brayden/Jaden/Hayden etc., Liam). I am so amused by some people's choices ;)
http://projectnursery.com/
People upload pictures of their nurseries, decorations, and parties. Some are over the top, some are expensive looking, some look easy, all have interesting ideas.
http://www.babysteals.com/
Everyday they put up one new deal for a baby related item, you can order it from them usually about 50% off the original price but once they are gone, they're gone! I haven't actually ordered anything from here but I like to see the things they post everyday because most of it is stuff I have never heard of. Plus I love a good deal, even if I don't actually buy it.
http://www.sporcle.com/
Sporcle games are usually trivia, they could keep me busy for hours.
http://allrecipes.com/
I have found myself looking for new recipes more frequently now that I am home a lot and feel like spending more time figuring out what to make for dinner. This website makes it easy to search for specific recipes and to save them all to your 'recipe box'. The last recipe I made from here was for snickerdoodles and they went over well, they have good ideas for different holiday themed food as well.
And now that halloween is soon approaching...at least to some stores, I have been searching for different baby costume ideas. Although really I feel like he should just be Wolverine the first Halloween, being that his name is Logan ;) But there are so many other cute ideas, I really must think this through, time is running out! At babiesRus they already had their halloween costumes out and an assortment of halloween onesies and clothes, I did a little dance around the display and ooo-ed and awww-ed and Dominic didn't seem to think I would dress Logan up in Halloween inspired garb for the whole month of October, I assured him he would be mistaken! A ghost one day, a pumpkin the next, a skeleton on the weekends haha why not! Would you ever doubt that I would not express the love of halloween through a poor helpless child and his wardrobe!
I think you guys should be the 3 bears for Halloween.
