Balloon Fiesta...DAH!

We made it to Albuquerque and back in one piece!  Traveling at night was much easier for dealing with Logan since he slept the whole way but a little harder for us as we are not night owls, but it was definitely worth doing this way.  Albuquerque was fun, the weather was nice and cool, the morning we went to the balloon fiesta we even had snow on the Sandias.  It is always fun to hang out with Drea and her family they are my favorite!
We drove there Thursday night and since the weather was rainy on and off Friday the balloons didn't go up so we went to the zoo instead.  I love Albuquerque's zoo, it's bigger then ours but not so big that you can't see everything in the time a toddlers attention span lets you.  Logan loves the zoo and looking at all the animals and mainly getting to walk around between exhibits and sit on daddy's shoulders.

watching the train go by was almost better then some of the animals for Logan

Saturday we were up bright and early around 6am to go watch the balloons.  It was cold and we were all bundled up and ready to watch the balloons.  Keeping gloves on a baby was actually easier then I thought it would be ;)  Melanie was nice enough to share her dad's free parking pass and tickets to the balloon fiesta with us so we walked from his work to the park and didn't end up needing any ticket to get in...how'd that happen!  We got the mandatory breakfast burritos and were anxiously waiting the news of wether the balloons would fly or not, depending on the wind and weather.  Luckily it ended up being perfect and we got to see so many take flight.  Logan could not stop looking around and pointing to all the balloons as they were inflating saying "DAH, DAH, DAH" to each one.  He loved all the balloons and all the action going on around us.  It is always fun to watch but even more so when you are sharing it with your baby.

The rest of our time in Albuquerque we spent playing with the kids at the park, eating at all our favorite places and getting all the yummy green chile we could, walking around Old Town

OMG mom, look a cannon...with a giant wheel!

and Sunday morning while the boys were on a bike ride and Laura was running, Logan and I went to watch the balloons and we ended up near where some were landing, so we got to help them land.

 So amazing to see!

I love Albuquerque and can't wait to go back next year for the balloon fiesta, each year is exciting now because Logan will get to experience it in a different way, next year- wrangling a two year old haha yay.
