Oh Drea, how I love thee!
Andrea moved across the street from me in middle school. Silly enough I didn't like her, even though I had never met her, because her house took away my lizard catching spot haha. (Yes I caught lizards and made them my pets, then set them free and moved onto the next lizard) Luckily, once I had actually talked with her at the bus stop (I'm sure we played a round of hacky sack as well!) we became friends and the lizard fueled hatred was history. I believe this all went down when I was in 7th grade and she was in 6th. Oh so long ago! We had a lot of fun growing up together and getting in to trouble. We even both got grounded at the same time (for different offenses) and since the phone and friends were banned, we used walkie talkies to outsmart our parents. We would flash our flashlights into each others windows and then turn on the walkie talkie to talk, genius. She was with me in Mertle my mustang through many adventures around the Academy (the only place I was allowed to drive to alone), even an instance of rolling down her drive way backwards confused why the car wouldn't go into drive...I hadn't turned it on yet...(luckily I have driving all figured out now!). We had a lot of fun together and so many inside jokes. When I moved to Phoenix in 10th grade, I was devastated to leave my life, especially my wonderful friends like Drea. But we kept in touch no matter how far apart we lived. On my 16th birthday, the first one in Phoenix, I woke up to her jumping into my bed. Best surprise ever! Many moons later, she threw me a bridal shower in Albuquerque and then proceeded to get me extremely drunk afterwards off of long islands, tequila and a "blow job" shot and then there was karaoke (haha I blame you for all this fun and resulting hangover)...a fun ride home and a not so fun next morning haha. She was a bridesmaid at our wedding, and I will never forget her crying at our rehearsal dinner...not because I was getting married, but because the waitress at Macaroni Grill insisted on singing Dom and I an R&B love song haha. Let's not forget our wedding, oh and Drea is single ;) We have so many good memories together! We still managed to stay close and have fun all these years since we first met. Although we see less of each other now that we are all grown up, everytime we do get together it's as if nothing has changed. I can still tell her anything, laugh with her (or at her ;), cry with her, be myself with her. She is one of the only people I know will always be there for me. She will always be a part of my life. One of the best, craziest, most fun parts. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful person in my life. Love you Dre!
