Happy September 9th, we have been waiting for you for a loooong 9 months, that's 40 weeks or 280 days, aka forever! Logan do you know your birthday is supposed to be today...don't miss your own party!
I have a feeling you will not be in the 5% that are actually born on their due date, too bad, it sounds like an appealing day already- you would share a birthday with Brenda, it's only supposed to be a high of 90 degrees today and you would help your daddy from going insane at work... not to mention the house is clean, the bags are packed, your room is done and I could finally stop being stared at by strangers!
Went to the doctor yesterday, nothing has changed, le sigh! Still 1cm, 50% thinned out and baby is not dropped all the way yet. Go back tomorrow for a NST- non stress test that checks babies heart rate and monitors to see if I am having contractions (I did one of these on Wednesday because I said he hadn't been moving much that morning, turns out right as I sit down to be monitored for 20 mins he starts going crazy and showing off his acrobatic skills. Found out I was having contractions but I just couldn't feel them) and then they will do an ultrasound to check the fluid levels (I am hoping she can tell how much bigger he might be from last time... to see if he will still fit through my "it should be fine" pelvis!). Then Friday we are setting an induction day of sometime that weekend or Monday I think. She would induce me by a week overdue anyways, so he has a few more days to decide if he will surrender on his own or if we have to go in there and force him out! It seems weird picking someone's birthday. And after the birthing preparation class and all the stories I have heard from friends, I really did not want to be induced as Pitocin is supposed to be a bitch, but that looks like the direction we will have to go in. I am getting more nervous and anxious now and all I am dreading is that I will be in a painful and long labor and then have to get a C-section after all. Blah, no thanks! But by that point maybe that sounds more like a relief. It's the recovery that I really don't want to have to deal with, so here's hoping we don't have to go that route!
So what are you supposed to do on your due date anyways... good thing football starts tonight and we can go to buffalo wild wings (haha that's for you Dom!). There is nothing left that I want or need to do except get this baby out! I guess I could start figuring out our halloween party as that is usually what my mind is consumed with during this time of year, do I have the brain power to think of anything other then babies right now though, I'm not sure!
I'm just ready to say so long pregnancy and hello baby!
I can't believe you are having contractions and not feeling them! That's kind of exciting :) My Mom went to the beach on her due date with me - I didn't come out for another 2 weeks though, so so much for that idea :)
