Summertime and the livin is easy

This summer has kept us quite busy! I feel like every weekend we had something to do or somewhere to go. Here is a sum up of what has happened this summer...

I got re-certified in CPR and 1st aid and was reminded what it looks like when a brown recluse spider bites you... it eats away at your skin from the inside out, disgusting (I was going to put a picture up but they were all too gruesome looking, so if you must know what it looks like follow this link http://www.emedicinehealth.com/spider_bite_brown_recluse_spider_bite/page11_em.htm#Multimedia)

We celebrated our 3rd Anniversary with a weekend trip to Disneyland and got to see Amanda and her new cute apartment. We found out Dom has a batman voice, Amanda hates wet jeans, and apparently I am Lady from Lady and the Tramp.

I am free of Tuberculosis, huzzah!

I helped throw a Bridal shower and Bachelorette party for Laura. We ate dinner at El Parador and played games then off to Tucson Pole Fitness for a pole dancing party. I learned "the fireman" and the "porno push-up". I didn't learn how to walk let alone dance in stripper heels, those girls have talent ;)

Dom and I were part of the wedding party in Will and Laura's wedding, which was beautiful and SO much fun. So much fun that the night ended (after I spilled beer down my dress multiple times) with a blown up dolphin being thrown on the bride and grooms balcony before our 2 am trip to I-Hop followed by a dip in the hotel fountain. Good times with great friends.

I took a Music and Movement in preschool age children summer class from Pima Community College in which I spent 2 hours on homework 1 day and was done. That's all. Not sure I learned anything but maybe I got an A?

Had a crafty date with Nancy and finally got some scrapbooking done. I think I have about 5 more years to catch up on...no not really, more like a whole lifetime. But it gets done slowly but surely, one day!

Had dinner with my cousin Dustin from Texas one day while he was in on business. Found out a funny story about how he was staying in a hotel for business, went to work out, came back to his room and all his stuff was gone. So he yells at hotel people for hours, calls police, then goes up to show them how everything is missing, only to find all his stuff still in his room. Come to find out his card worked for a different room earlier and when he went in he saw that none of his stuff was there...cuz it wasn't his room, he thought it was stolen. haha that will keep me laughing for awhile, sorry Dustin!

Went to New Orleans for a week to sight see and for Emily and Ted (Dom's cousins) wedding. We fit so much stuff in a week (including getting a cold at the end) but it was so much fun. New Orleans sum up- humid and hot all the time. graveyard tour- above ground graves. cruise on Mississippi river to go to Mardi Gras world (where they keep the floats for Mardi Gras). a lot of Beignets, cajun and creole food including alligator. aquarium and insectarium- where we ate worms. rehearsal dinner- beautiful, my wine glass was never empty which led to me ending the night by throwing up in a bag of fertilizer on the balcony outside which then led me to realize I do NOT like goat cheese ravioli afterall haha. Wedding- again beautiful, fun times with family. Bourbon St- 1am interesting crowd, flashing, beer and shots on the street, horsey police arresting someone, beads. Rode the street car. walked around A LOT and took pictures. Lots of fun stuff!

The new Harry Potter came out, we enjoyed, can't wait for the last 2!

My birthday present was tickets to Wicked which was in Phoenix the Friday after our New Orleans trip, I liked it- good music and funnier then I thought, although it was nothing like the book which was good because the play was much easier to understand! Dom sat through it, he was a good sport, but it's not his thing.

Camping trip to the Mogollon Rim to go fishing and shooting around Bear Canyon Lake. In my escape we fit us, Will, Laura, 3 dogs, and all our camping stuff...I didn't think it could be done but somehow it worked. Shot Dom's gun once, that was enough for me. Found out shooting makes Maya have a nervous breakdown and causes LeeLu to physically shake. We didn't catch any fish but we saw a bunch of crawdads. LeeLu enjoyed jumping in the lake and swimming for sticks Dom threw for her while Maya and Jade watched. I was stressed about how this was all going to work before we left but ended up having a good time once it all came together.

and in closing today at preschool the kids found little white balls that felt squishy in the sandbox and we didn't know what they were so I decided to cut one open to find out what it was (I was thinking it was the stuff they put inside nerf balls or something along those lines)...come to find out when I cut it open there was a baby lizard in there! they were lizard eggs! I killed a baby lizard, ahhhh! There were a ton of the eggs so we just barried them all how we found them and hopefully the rest will survive. I felt so bad once I realized what it was! who knew all eggs aren't hard, I guess I never really thought about it before. so just in case you run into any possible lizard eggs this is what they look like...

Summer is almost over for me since I go back to the fall work schedule Aug 17th. 1-2 more months until we can try for a baby again, I told Dom if we weren't pregnant by December we are going skiing/snowboarding for part of our Christmas vacation! Anything else we should do before we have kids, send in your suggestions now because hopefully we are running out of time!

(and on a side note- 2 of my favorite books are now movies, My Sister's Keeper and The Time Traveler's Wife, I am super excited to see them and hope they are just as good as the book!)
