Steps 1 and 2

Remember how I titled yesterdays post as "the end is near", well I didn't realize how soon it would come and that it wouldn't be about the helmet!

Yesterday when I went to pick up Logan from the gym day care he was standing next to one of the workers who was sitting on the floor and so I knelt down across from him and held out my hands saying 'Hi Logan, come here baby' and well he did...all by himself, without holding on, just walked the 2 steps to me! Everyone went "ooooohhhhh" and I was like wow, did that just happen?! So as we are driving to Target I call Dom and tell him and explain how I'm not sure that counts as his first steps really, but he is getting so close. After our trip to Target we come home and play and at one point he is sitting on my lap on the couch singing patty cake then he seems to be done with me so I stand him up on the floor between my knees which he usually just grabs on to then cruises around the couch, well this time he just stood there without holding on to anything, so I lightly held the back of his shirt thinking wow he is standing all by himself, then out of no where he just starts walking!! 5 or so steps all by himself then he falls to his bum. I get so excited I excitedly clap and say YAY LOGAN!! which scares the crap out of him and he starts crying, darn my over enthusiasm- I scared the walking right out of him for the rest of the day haha. But I am happy to say Logan for sure had his first steps yesterday!! I was so excited! So the end of a scooting, not crawling, I only like to cruise baby is near. The big steps are coming. Am I ready for this?!

Last night Logan and I went to Baskin Robins for some ice cream to try and keep him awake to see Dom since he had to work late and while we were there we ran into Kelsey and Ashley who I worked with at Sonshine. Well Logan was content showing off to the girls standing with a chair trying to push it around then realizing he could get to the wall and then the freezer case and was happy with his freedom. Although everytime those little fingers would poke inside an unknown freezer drawer I picked him up and sat him in my lap, even if it was just for a second, he would squirm around until I put him down then he was off on his little course again...this is when I realized, oh man I am going to have a little guy that walks soon and he will be ALL OVER places like this and not wanting me to pick him up or wrangle him anymore...ya maybe I will ask that question again...am I ready for this?! Well ready or not, here he comes!
