Logan's sleeping patterns are a million times better then they ever were. The crying it out worked great for us once we actually stuck to it, it didn't take long for him to get into the rhythm. At bedtime and his early morning nap (right after he eats at 6am) he goes to bed no problem, not even a peep. He doesn't cry in the middle of the night anymore and if he does it only lasts a few minutes then he puts him self back to sleep. Nap time during the day goes well but not as smoothly as at night. He puts up a fight and cries each time anywhere from 5-20 mins. It's funny because you can tell he is tired but he now just gets this crazy burst of energy when he is exhausted and tries to keep himself awake by cruising all around the house and acting delirious, then I put him in his crib for nap and he starts to cry, once the crying winds down a bit his new way of staying awake and fighting the nap is to start blowing raspberries on his arms. It's pretty funny to listen and hear the progression of crying, raspberries and then silence.
Logan had an appointment at Hanger to check on the progress with his cranial band. Logan's percentage of difference between the cranial width and length went from 86% to 85% (we want 80-85%) so it is within normal range now, just the higher end of normal. The difference between the right and left cranial vaults has been at 3mm the last two appointments which is where we want it to be. So we have one more appointment in 3 weeks and our options between now and then are really up to us. There is still room to grow into the helmet so we can have him still wear it full time, half time, one week on one week off, the list goes on, basically whatever we feel like doing. We decided to have him only where it at night time since that is when he is laying on his head with little movement and when he is growing, so during the day he is helmet free! Which is great because it's so hot the poor guy is always sweaty and smelly! His head shape looks normal to other people but we can still see one spot that needs to round out a little bit then it would look like a nicely rounded melon, but if it doesn't happen then oh well, just rock a killer hairstyle until it all falls out, then you can blame us for your odd shape ;)
We are still waiting for a confidence boost for Logan to start walking on his own without any prompting or without going just from one person to the other. I really do expect him to just start running one day, he can walk around cruising so fast! Not much else is new, we are just preparing for the big day when little man turns 1! Ok, really I am more mentally preparing!
