hoooo, hoooo (night owl!)

I am slowly learning to enjoy the night life

what is the night life you ask, well according to the definition it is "the entertainment available to people seeking nighttime diversion"
well my night life starts when the boys are asleep!
party of 1 please
and what does this party consist of...apparently checking things off my to-do list is my entertaining diversion...

--picking up the house- baby toys back in the bouncer, pacifiers back on the book shelf, dishes in the dishwasher, moving that sticky note with my reminder of what I need to do tomorrow into a prime location.
--catching up on my magazine I tried reading unsuccessfully throughout the day
--organizing my gargantuan pile of baby pictures into their albums
--filling out Logan's baby book, this must be done while the info is still fresh in my mind, so far I am doing good at keeping on track.
--drinking hot chocolate (although now that I think of it I should've had some vino! make note of this on sticky note for the future)
--figuring out what new recipes I should try next week, then transferring recipes from scrap paper shoved into cookbook onto cute dollar bin notecards (thanks Target!) (this is a task for many nights in a row!)
--pondering the leftover brownies
--uploading pictures onto computer, then either add them to facebook or update blog, or hey why not both
--pay bills, contemplate signing up for paperless statements but forget to actually do so
--watch a recorded episode of How I Met Your Mother
--peruse pantry for something snackerific, realize peanut butter jar is judging me and calling me a choosy mom, I will stick with my hot chocolate while wishing I could have everything cheesy, milky and buttery all at once
--shed a tear over my lack of dairy for...how many months has it been...oh somewhere around 3 loooooong months.
--decide when I am able to eat dairy again there shall be a national holiday set up where everyone gets the day off work to revel in all things cheese. Must find a cheese hat for the occasion.

ah such a simple little pleasure I get in my alone time, between the hours of 9:30 and 11pm (ok, sometimes 12)
Who knew getting things done around the house while randomly inserting a few things for myself would be so worth staying awake for. The productivity is rewarding. And then I have to decide...should I get more done, zone out in front of the tv for another episode of trashy goodness and guilty pleasures or go to bed. Eventually the nightlife winds down and sleep wins. (On a side note, I sleep like a rock now, I think my brain has tuned out all noise except the baby monitor and any animal spontaneously deciding to vomit in the middle of the night, good thing those are all standouts noted as *important* in my sleepy mind!)

((in case you needed a little baby action, here's Logan today playing with his very hungry caterpillar))
Photobucket
tell me mr. caterpillar, why are you so very hungry?
