This is the spine

Apparently those two bright dots towards to top means it's a boy!

A hand and arm, see the fingers!
The ultrasound was so exciting to see, instead of a little gummy bear, the pictures look more like a baby, it was neat to see all the different parts and we got a ton of pictures, most of which are hard to figure out what you are looking at. Dom's parents, my parents and my sister were there to join us for the ultrasound and I think everyone there was thinking it was going to be a girl, when the doctor pointed out the two bright dots and said 'guess what, it's a boy', I think everyone was shocked. And although I don't remember looking over at Dominic in that moment I feel like he was doing a little happy dance in the corner. I on the other hand, didn't know what to say, I was completely surprised. Although if I think about it, looking back, the only dream I had about our own child was that we went to the hospital and the labor was super easy and fast (hey hopefully that comes true too!) and they handed me a baby boy and I was confused on if it was really mine. So I guess maybe I knew it was a boy all along subconsciously haha. I feel like I have changed my frame of mind more now that it has had a few weeks to sink in and looking at all the cute boy clothes helped too ;) I have to admit the next day when Dom had to travel for work and all the family had left, after work I headed to babiesRus to return the pink clothes my mom had bought before hand and exchanged them for some outfits Dom would appreciate, a soccer shirt and a polo with "prissy" shorts (that's what I call Dom's plaid shorts) so that the baby can match daddy haha. Poor child ;) I'm glad so many of our family could come and share the moment with us, it was definitely exciting and surprising!
A few things we know for sure about our future boy
1. His name will be Logan
2. He will have dark curly hair
3. He will be stubborn...look at his parents!
4. He will be extremely spoiled by grandparents and great grandparents
I guess we just have to wait to find out the rest, I am hoping number 5 will be something along the lines of: although he is smaller then his dad was at birth (no 9lb + babies for me, I refuse...please oh please be small, at least your head!) He is a healthy baby.
Candi sent us some yummy "it's a boy" cookies in a cute tin, spoiling him already right- we are enjoying them!

A few days after the ultrasound we headed off to California with Amanda and friend Kelsey for Stagecoach, a country music festival in which we camped outside for 3 nights and got to see 2 days of concerts from among others, Keith Urban, Sugarland, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Billy Currington, Phil Vassar and Jason Aldean. It was a lot of fun but I found out just how hard camping while pregnant is, especially when it's hot outside and all you have are portapotties and a very full bladder at all times haha. By the end of the trip my ankles looked like this-

in case you are not intimitely familiar with my ankles, this is the before, aka normal, picture-

On the way to Stagecoach I did finally get to feel the baby kick for the first time. It's a weird feeling at first, like, what is that? is that the baby? then it keeps happening and you realize, oooo it is the baby! Kind of feels like a bubble popping or something like that at first. I have felt him atleast once a day since then and it still surprises me sometimes. Dom says he can feel him too, it will be weird when we can actually see him move from the outside, that might creep me out a little haha. But I was excited to finally have the pictures, the physical proof that he is really in there, and a name... it all seems so much more 'real' now!
