catch up, ketchup, catsup

* I seem to pronounce all three words the same, so time to ketchup with what has been going on ;)

I seem to have been a momentous slacker on the blogging seeing as November was the last entry. It is now February. Oops. I guess things have been pretty busy since November! The only good reason you get such a thrilling entry from me today is that I am home sick from work. Sick days... not as fun as snow days. Another good reason for writing this is that sitting up seems to be the only comfortable way to ensure breathing. Lying down= coughing and stuffy nose which together make my rib cage tired and make me realize how many muscles are involved in the delicate process of breathing.

So November hmmm, what happened in November, like I could forget a black friday shopping extravaganza?! Bravo and cheers to Dom for being brave on his first black friday, tell the man he can buy us a big new tv with 2 blu ray players and surround sound and the guy will stay up outside the store all night long, ahhh so dreamy. Not un-accompanied of course, as Amanda and I are seasoned pro's at black friday and although we have never spent the night somewhere before we do have massive plans complete with blue prints to ensure we get everything we came for. Move over old ladies we mean business! So as lovely as Thanksgiving is, black friday is the better 'holiday' in my book, although mashed potatoes could give it a run for it's money. So we got a fancy shmancy new tv which we are excited about and which has amazing surround sound capable of breaking one vase, one picture frame, and one wooden statue all placed on the shelves conveniently located on the wall behind the tv. When something falls off now, it's kind of like a rating scale for the movie. On my black friday list I did get a fair share of DVDs which happen to be my favorite things to buy, but only if they are under $10. And of course with Dom off shopping on his own my number of blankets purchased are unhindered, another good reason to love black friday.

Moving on to December. Which almost, ALMOST, felt like winter. We spent a lot of time back and forth in Phoenix it feels like. No trip to Roswell this year which means no big win at the casino as is customary, so sorry there is no picture of us holding exorbitant amounts of money. Dad did come in from Mexico, ole, and spent the week of Christmas here with us. Ashley came over Christmas day and we did our usual hors duerves and christmas presentry. Then the day after Christmas we were off to Phoenix again and it's always nice to relax. Really it all kind of flew by. after a few days in Phoenix we came back to Tucson for New Years Eve and spent that night in Wonderland at Melanie's house. Welcome 2010, you should be a good year, I have high hopes for you, so don't disappoint!

January brought the return to work and mom came down for a visit. I think we had a week of Winter, hurray. We celebrated Amanda's 22nd birthday in the fashion of older people considering last year was at Toby Keith's bar in Vegas, we went for the same vibe Phoenix style. Dancing and drinking, how hard can the two step be right. I also found a home for Monty, I found a lady online who runs a chinchilla rescue and helps find them homes so I drove Monty out to her one day with Ashley and we found out just like there are crazy cat people, there are crazy chinchilla people too. Smelly house, 250+ chinchilla's and she let's them watch movies, Scrooge is their favorite... yes Monty I hope you have a good time with crazy chinchilla lady, I know she will love you until you find another home. Other then the craziness of the holidays, 2010 has been a bit more laid back. Although the other night a homeless man offered Dom and I what I thought was a pack of big league chew gum, Don't take candy from strangers ran through my head before I heard Dom say no sorry can't help you out. Then I realized he was asking us if we could roll a cigarette for him. He continued to sit down next to us on the bench outside the packed restaurant and show us he was fully capable of rolling his own cigarette.

February, well it's only 2 days in, but I have already been told I am not allowed to look at our iPhoto on the computer which holds all our pictures until after Valentine's day. This means Dominic, you have thought about what you are going to make me already this year, where as I have nothing. He requested I learn a song on the guitar. That might take longer then 2 weeks considering my previous history with musical instruments. Maybe I should find a recorder and do hot cross buns seeing as that is the limit of my musicality. How romantic. I will come up with something...hmmmm.

Well then I hope that was enough catch up, the basics, the parts I can remember. Oh and Amanda got me addicted to the Hunger Games books which I have already gone through one and two and now have to wait until August for number three. So until then I will be waiting in anticipation. But I have toy story 3 to keep me preoccupied in June at least ;) That is all for now. Off to make something for lunch and try to stay upright and breathe normally until the Lost season premiere tonight in which case I might just cry or die or throw things, who knows. Have a happy day.
