Don't you hate it when you come home from a good but busy day only to find out that your dog is a homicidal maniac and the other is guilty of attempted murder!
You can guess which one went for the kill and which one carried it around in their mouth still alive.
We have a lot of bird nests in our backyard and yesterday after I let the dogs outside I was putting the groceries away when I glance out side and see Maya with something in her mouth...that's not good. So I run to the door and yell at her to come here so of course she brings it over and I say drop it (I must've sounded mean because this time she actually listened) and she let's go a little baby bird who starts to try and hop away and Maya just looks at it, as I grab her collar to throw her inside I look over at LeeLu who is under a tree with the other baby bird in her mouth and when i yell at her to come over, she gobbles the whole thing up in one bite! and then comes running over like, what? And then LeeLu eyes up Maya's birdie which is still trying to hop away. I put the dogs inside and go to find Maya's birdie who is hopping and flopping over to a tree, I don't see any blood but the birdie isn't doing so well...what do I do?! I can't sit here and watch it die but I can't do anything to help it because the mama bird won't want it back right. So I call Dom and leave him a voicemail letting him know the dogs have been put in a holding cell until the trial when he gets home. The cat can testify as a witness ;)
Dom got home and we found the birdie still alive outside but it couldn't stay in our yard or one of the dogs would finish the job. So we slowly chased the birdie out the gate and hopefully it will live...and stay out of our yard! But until further notice our jailbird dogs are confined to house arrest.
If you ever wrote a book, I would read it! You're more funny in writing than in person ;-) haha
