coyotes, turtle racing and tapioca OH MY!

This week I learned:
- Coyote's are listed as number 9 on the top twenty list of fastest land mammals. They can run up to 43 mph. Dom was shocked to hear this as he sometimes sees them during his morning bike ride and he was sure he could ride away fast enough...not anymore. This fact also got me thinking about Looney Tunes. Roadrunners can run 20 mph tops (which is faster then I originally thought), so why couldn't Wile E. Coyote ever catch the Roadrunner? Stealth quick thinking maneuvers by the Roadrunner and a handy supply of malfunctioning ACME weapons for the Coyote and all along he could have just outrun it. Thank you sporcle for the surprising quiz that started this whole thought process. http://www.sporcle.com/games/fastestmammals.php (I only got 7 out of 20 right haha)

- Pippin is in fact a boy. And he does in fact looooove Maya. I think this is why I was never a fan of boy dogs. Sorry Pip, you need to get neutered my friend!

- My dad has a facebook account. Weird. I didn't know he knew how to do stuff so technologically advanced! Dom did remind me that he now has a touch screen cell phone, blue tooth in his truck and he understands and participates in the world of texting. But really, facebook? And he didn't accept my online friendship yet. haha

- Dominic plus a pitcher of margaritas equals waking up in the middle of the night and walking to the bedroom window to go pee...
cue Krystal waking up and seeing Dom standing at the window, "Dom what are you doing?"
"going to the bathroom"
"that's the window"
Dominic looks around, turns around, starts walking the other way "ya"

- my crazy hormones trying to go back to normal means that the sound of Maya barking at Jade drives me over the edge, when Dom comes home from work I look at him and I start crying for no reason and the amount of movies I can watch in one day without moving is growing exponentially.

- there is apparently Brennan's bar in California by Amanda's new house that has turtle racing. In case you didn't know, here are the rules of turtle races from Brennan's website, http://www.brennanspub-la.com/racing.htm:

Welcome to Brennan's -- THE Home of Turtle Racing-
-- Turtle racing occurs almost every Thursday evening, usually starting between 9 and 10p.m. It is held outside, so dress accordingly.
-- Turtles are classified into one of seven divisions (from Midget to Monster).
-- There are 2 rounds of racing each night racing can be held. The rounds are about an hour apart. Bring your own turtle, or rent one of ours......
-- There are important rules, such as "Don't point at the turtles!"
-- NOTE: Turtles caught using performance enhancing drugs will be disqualified and prohibited from further racing.

Another good reason to love California.

- If you go see Pixar's new movie UP, you might need a tissue. And if people tell you "it's ok, it's a happy cry" but you are hormonal just had a miscarriage Krystal and you go to see UP, when they show that Carl and Ellie are looking at the clouds and see babies then the next scene they are at the doctors office crying, then you will definitely need a tissue and you will turn to Dominic and go "this is not a happy cry!". haha oh irony you got me again. I loved the movie though and even though I cried periodically through it and it did end up being a happy cry, I thought it was great.

- I can't do tapioca. The sight of it looks like little zits and my gag reflex must be getting more sensitive because I knew if I put it in my mouth I would puke. And the dessert at Seri Melaka (Malaysian food which was delicious, just not the dessert) called Burbur Cha Cha was a warm bowl of zits and sweet potato...which Will and Laura ate with no problems!

- Haiku's are hard but it doesn't matter because they don't always have to make sense ;) So here is my attempt.

  1. Love! that movie. So much. And I told Ashley to let you know not to see it right away! But I'm glad you liked it in the end. And Pippin really just can't control himself....
