3 weeks already!

just a quick update while baby is sleeping! Breast feeding is easier now for both of us and those that say it is not supposed to hurt were lying... they mean to say, after the first 2 weeks your nips will lose all feeling since they have been overworked every 2-3 hours therefore every time you feed it won't feel like someone is trying to bite your nipples off. ah finally, only now can I agree that yes, it does not hurt...anymore. Logan seems to want to eat during the day every 2 hours with an occasional 3-4 hour nap break. At night he has been doing amazing considering I could be up a lot more! He tends to sleep after eating at 10pm till 3ish and then falls back asleep till 6 or 7am, so we are usually getting a good amount of sleep even though there are days when it doesn't feel like it, it's really not that bad if he keeps up this routine! *knock on wood* And he has even been sleeping in his crib all night for a few nights now, hurray! The bouncer is still used during the day for naps but we don't end up needing to use it to put him to sleep every night now, so hopefully that keeps up too. For the past few days we have had a crying spree, usually after Dom gets home from work, that we can't figure out what he wants or needs, but I think in general we attribute it to gas and somehow it works itself out. We learned a few things to help him out but there is not a fail safe method yet. Some days he sleeps almost all day except waking up to eat and when we change him, other days he is awake a considerable amount. When his eyes are open, he loves to look up at the lights (atleast I assume that's what he is looking at). His neck muscles are surprisingly strong as he can hold his giant head up for awhile but then it always comes crashing back down ;) I still get peed on, haven't figured out the best way to not let this happen yet haha. He goes through a lot of outfits a day, atleast 3 since he tends to pee all over himself, I guess you can never have too many clothes! So I end up doing baby laundry a lot!

Last week at his 2 week appointment, he weighed 8lbs 8oz! We left the hospital at 7lbs and they just want babies to get back to their birth weight by 2 weeks but he obviously exceeded that by almost a pound, I guess we don't have to worry if he is getting enough to eat! (He feels even heavier to me this week, but he doesn't look chunky yet haha) He was 20 1/2 inches and his head circumference was 38cm. He was in the 50th percentile for length, 25-50th percentile for weight, and 50-75 percentile for his head circumference, so he is about average right now I guess. While we were there we had to get his second infant screening done and they had to prick his foot and fill this paperwork with blood samples, well he did not enjoy that especially since he had to be pricked twice since it just wasn't coming out fast enough, I think he cried and screamed for 5 minutes straight, he even made the first little tears I have seen! We go back for our next appointment when he is 2 months old, seems like a long time away!

On Monday I took him back to the hospital to get his hearing screened again since his right ear failed twice at the hospital. They needed him to be asleep for the test and somehow he was! I think the car ride helped! Since he was asleep and cooperative in that way the test was really fast and he passed this time, so now he has no future excuses for not listening to us ;)

I bought cute little knitted hats with ears on them from etsy so I could take some pictures of Logan in them, they turned out really cute, even got a few with his eyes open. We used some of the pictures for his birth announcements which I finally addressed today and will mail them soon! There are so many cute pictures I will have to find a way to put most of them up so you can see them in case you don't have facebook because they are all on there already (ahem, Brenda ;)
